Shojou
会長はメイド様!
Kaichō wa Meido-sama!
Kaicho wa Meido-sama is such a classic shojou manga. I have seen the anime version of it a few times when I was in high-school. And this time I finally get to read the original manga.
Even though Takumi is such a classic "powerful" male-lead character, he would not make you feel annoyed by being able to do anything. I just find him handsome and cute when thinking about Misaki. And Misaki is a strong, persevering, and hard-working person who keeps pushing herself forward. She even became a thought diplomat at the end of the manga. She does not only have a cute charming face outside, she also has a independent, self-love, disapproval spirit inside. No one is just the foil of the other person, they learn and grow together along the path of their life.
One thing I really liked in the manga is that it shows the progress of how Misaki falls in love but not like many other romance manga- it just happens. They been attracted by each other, they help each other and they grow up together.
Throughout the story, the main theme of warmth, optimism and humor comes to an end. The maids with smiling smiles in the maid coffee shop, the vice-president Yukimura who was pitifully dressed in women's clothing, the idiot trio suddenly appeared as a fan of Misaki, and the sister of Misaki was filled with a notebook of discount information and raffle tickets, and the boy who dressed himself up and be came popular online... Everyone is a living and unique existence.
