Annarasumanara

Annarasumanara is a really interesting web comic. As I was reading it, there are many parts I get confused with but I still couldn't stop reading till the end.   I totally trusted the magician  has real magic power until the very end. I was drown into Ai's sad world. I can clearly feel her wish to be saved and her compromise to the cruel realistic world. And I can feel the magician's loneliness and his fear of the adult world. I really feel connected to their feelings. Especially when Ai thinks about how to get a proper job and try to make more money instead of try to do what makes her happy as she still can.   I think this comic would be good to be made in to a real life TV show with comic like special effects. Since there are so many real life struggles in this comic, it would be fun to make it into real life style and add fun effects. And it would communicate well to the audience of this dream like magic scenes.   This comic has many super long and blank images to s

Oishinbo

Image
I have not read many manga talk about food but I think Oishinbo is defiantly a good example for introducing different kinds of food and culture in them. Oishinbo is quit a calming and enjoying manga to read. I'm so glad it actually seriously talks about food and how they were made.    It is not like Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma   that the only way to show how good the food taste is how much the clothes of the diner exploded. It is not like in Chuka Ichiban!  that people would make legendary food that doesn't exist in real life to impress others. It is not like that two manga are not good but some time it is just really enjoyable to  see a manga really talk about the food you can find and eat in real life.   Even Oishinbo  does not have a super cute or pretty art style, it still catches my eye in only a few pages. The stories of the characters fits well in every little story in each chapter. And the rhythm of of each chapter give you a good flow of wanting to know

Silver Spoon

--The most important thing to be a pig is to be happy   Silver Spoon has became one of my favorite anime. I watched the whole two seasons that have been released and I want to read the counting story from the manga later on.   Livestocks are animals, and animals are not just animals. This is a story that happened in agricultural high school. As you would think, it involves a lot of stories about animals, and it makes me think about animals differently. Hachiken was very entangled with the pig he raised. He watched him born and named it Katsuton. Katsuton is the youngest among his siblings. Every time he eats, he will be squeezed to the side. So Hachiken gave him a lot Extra care. The students initially refused to let Hachiken name the animal, because they had experienced the pain of having a relationship with the animals and finally watched them become the food in the plate. But Hachiken did so in the end.   Hachiken was sad when he gave away Katsudon. He bought the Katsudon&#

Junji Ito

Image
The "Tomie" series, as a classic in Junji Ito's horror comics, the violent and bloody style and grotesque stories, let the image of Tomie quickly penetrate into the hearts of the people. This woman who can't be killed made everyone in the stories unconsciously obsessed with her, lure out the strong desire to possess deep in people's heart, and eventually want to kill her. But the no matter how many times been killed, Tomie will not die. She will split into new individuals, like viruses. One Tomie get killed, there will be two new Tomie come out. And each Fujiang is mutually exclusive, extremely distorted and selfish. But they are not evil, the image presented by Tomie seems to only magnify the shortcomings of all people's hearts, and shown through exaggerated expressions.     Runji Ito's style is very suitable for expressing strange things. His characters are not like nine heads tall in other manga, with their eyes occupy most of their face. But

Isekai

This week I read the That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime. I have seen all the anime series that have been released and I would totally say it's one of my favorite isekai anime. Therefor reading the manga with more information than the anime was defiantly joyful for me. But I wouldn't call it one of my favorite anime.     For some reason, most isekai anime from recent years have mixed with some elements from RPG(Role-play game) games. The characters can gain experience by killing other creatures and level up, gain new skills and even evolve. Therefore, it is more a game setting than a different world setting. The protagonist who passed by seemed like a player who entered the game and got a game pack and game buff. But Slime(the manga) did a good job on balancing isekai and RPG. There are many fun elements and settings about this new world. And the collections of skills can help the audience to understand the power of the characters better.      Another thing I reali

Cyberpunk

Image
Cyberpunk     Crowded living space, excessive information, mixed culture and high technology. They are elements that form a cyberpunk world.     But the element make me love cyberpunk is neither of them. One important element of cyberpunk movies is the ultimate question derived from the relationship between humans and machines: who am I, how can I prove my existence, and what is the meaning of existence?    Whether it is the discussion of the relationship between people and replicators in "Blade Runner", or the thinking about the spirit and flesh in "Ghost in the Shell", the question of existence almost runs through the cyberpunk movie, and "EVA" also No exception.    Rei Ayanami is a man-made man made from the genes of Ikari and the soul of Lilith. Her existence is just a tool for Ikari to realize the Human Aid Project. However, for various reasons, Ayanami gradually possessed independent consciousness and emotion, thus completing the transiti

Diversity of gender and sexuality in Manga and Anime

Image
My brother's husband “There are no wife, we both are husbands.”     I have never read any manga that talks about LGBT in such a calm and daily way.  Many LGBT manga I read are really personal, especially high school girls. But this My brother's husband talks about how this gay husband effects a whole family. How people from different ages react to this. And how this eventually affect everyone around this family.     The story is all about the daily life of this small family. This manga is more like a manga that universal homosexuality concept than a manga talks about gay relationships. The artist uses the view of a family that barley has any knowledge  about homosexual relationships and could not really understand this concept to show the audiences the progress of accepting.    Homosexual manga are super popular in Japan. But many of them only talks about the thoughts of the main character or just not talk about the the relationship being homosexual.  In fact,  even if
